Do you feel as if your hair growth is at a standstill? You feel like no matter how many hair masks you use or what all nutritious food you eat, the inches aren’t adding on?

There’s a good chance you’re dealing with other hair growth-restricting elements that you’re not even mindful of.

From your eating habits to imbalanced chemicals in the brands you use, Here are four reasons why your hair isn’t growing as fast as you’d expect.

Have a look.

Hormonal Imbalance

Hair loss can be caused by hormonal issues such as PCOS or thyroid, making it appear as if your hair isn’t growing when present in small quantities. Hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid) and hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid) can cause hair loss on the scalp, which appears scanty and thin.

Individuals with PCOS develop baldness in male-pattern. Thich is characterized by triangular-shaped hair loss at the scalp caused by alopecia (hair loss concentrated in small sections).

Poor Diet

The manner you eat has an influence on the entire health and growth of your hair. But it’s not the foods you eat that stop your hair from growing. Rather the foods you don’t eat—specifically, an inadequacy of vitamins and other essential nutrients.

According to a Dermatology Functional & Experiential study, a lack of iron, niacin, fatty acids, zinc, selenium, antioxidants, folic acid, biotin, vitamin (A, D, and E), and protein can cause hair loss and poor health of hair.

If you lack in one or more of these areas, you might be able to figure out why your hair isn’t growing to its best ability.

Telogen Effluvium

The hair follicle normally grows, rests, and then sheds to be restored by the new hair.

However, if a person has a chronic illness such as pneumonia, then their hair might go through a stagnated period. During this time, the anxiety of the illness provokes most hair follicles to enter their resting phase.

Thus hair growth stops temporarily. This is known as telogen effluvium.

Overprocessing and Styling

Styling your hair with heat and that too frequently can cause damage and breakage, which is a no-brainer.

Various kinds of braids, hair extensions, tight styles can cause pressure to the hair shaft, resulting in hair loss. The same can be said for dyeing, chemical straightening, or perming regularly.

Chemically treated hair becomes porous, resulting in protein loss and eventual breakage.

So, How To Accelerate Hair Growth?

Proper Iron Intake

Check to see if you’re getting a suf?cient amount of iron. Iron is abundant in chicken, beef, nuts, turkey, oysters, seeds, legumes, dark leafy greens, and spirulina, among other foods.

Consult your doctor to see if your iron levels are normal or if you should take iron pills as supplements.

Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is crucial. Not getting plenty of it can cause a variety of health issues, including scaly hair and skin.

You have the entire eight hours; treat them mindfully. Once you have sorted your sleep schedule, you can only then fantasize about having long and beautiful hair.

Trim Less

Since not all hair is born equal, then why would everyone have the same haircut schedule?

While it’s critical to address split ends already when they cause severe breakage and result in shorter hair, you don’t want to go overboard. Discover a hairstylist you like and start questioning them about how often you should get haircuts.

Once they know you’re committed to growing out your hair, they can put you on a trim schedule that only removes the hair that needs to be gone.

Less Stress

Your whole body, which includes your hair, is affected by stress. Unable to convey extreme anxiety or stress can result in a lack of hair growth and hair loss.

Start meditating regularly for 20 minutes and make it a habit. Start your morning with a positive and stress-free note. It will give you peace of mind before you begin your day.

Note: Please consult your general practitioner before changing your diet, taking any kind of supplements, or using a laser cap for hair loss

Final Word

We understand the tips mentioned above may take time to show effect, and you may not feel confident going to public places. You can consider using Human hair headband wigs until then.

These are comfortable on the head and don’t cost much. Plus, they make you look beautiful as ever!
